Job Description:

iostudio is experiencing rapid growth and is seeking a talented and experienced Business Development Director. This individual will be responsible for the development of new business strategy in conjunction with agency staff in addition to the initiation of leads, initial presentation, qualification of opportunity and financial viability of account, development of presentations and proposals, utilizing all agency resources, presentation participation and negotiation of contracts. It is expected the Business Development Director understands the client/agency relationship and has familiarity with agency services, markets and sales goals. This individual must have the ability to make independent decisions using discretion and judgment.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and maintain automated database for sales/promotion activities

Research, identify, target and refine sales prospects

Maintain regular contact with identified prospects to educate them and predispose them to agency

Gain opportunities for agency to make sales presentations to targeted prospects

Follow through with all presentations, including follow-up letters, proposals, etc.

Meet mutually agreed-upon annual sales quotas/targets

Initiate meetings with agency leadership to update all sales/new business opportunities

Work in tandem with agency leadership to develop sales goals

Report on market climate, competitive position and specific sales opportunities, as part of annual and long-term business plan development and implementation

Establish a target prospect "hot list"

Represent the agency at appropriate clubs, meetings and events, and direct agency principals to those critical to high-level exposure

Call prospects and leads on a timely basis

Make appointments for sales presentations

Organize and manage all activities in preparation for sales presentations (using appropriate agency resources), including background reading on prospect, product, technology and market; samples of all prospect literature and advertising competitive advertising; competitive agency background, if appropriate; or other materials as deemed necessary or helpful by sales manager or agency principals.

Organize all materials for speculative presentations using appropriate agency resources

Lead and write responses to requests for proposals

Travel up to 25 percent

Minimum Requirements:

B.A. or B.S. in marketing or related field or equivalent experience

4+ years' demonstrated experience with new business development in advertising or other agency environment

Solid experience "selling" a company's areas of expertise to diverse clients

Documented results bringing new clients into a company

Experience in all facets of advertising work, including interactive development

Self-motivated and tenacious, with the ability to consistently drive yourself

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to clarify client needs to a team

Ability to work effectively when unsupervised as well as in a team environment

Must have reliable means of transportation

Ability to pass a thorough background check as per the iostudio handbook guidelines
