Sactown, Sacramento's largest and most award-winning city magazine, is looking for an experienced account executive to join our team. The magazine just celebrated its 5th anniversary and continues to grow and lead the market. This is your chance to join an all-star team that includes the former president of Texas Monthly; the former publisher of the Sacramento News & Review; and former writers for Money, InStyle, The New York Times and New York magazine. In 2008, Sactown won the Maggie Award for Best City Magazine, beating out regional titles on the West Coast like San Francisco magazine.
This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining successful business relationships with new advertisers in several key account categories.
Candidates will have:
- 2-3 years in Media Sales with a proven track record of successful consultative selling and new account development.
- The ability to multi-task and be a self starter in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to think creatively and strategically when pursuing new business leads, which will be 75% of this job.
- Be an outgoing people-person and natural 'networker,' attending several evening and weekend events each month (many of which are sponsored by the magazine).
-A strong work ethic which translates into putting forth the time and energy needed to close business and exceed quotas.
