Embassy CES is now accepting applications for a temporary full-time Activity Manager for its Summer Program.

The Activity Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the activity program.

OUR COURSES

Students who attend our summer school courses receive a combination of English language tuition (16.67 hours

per week) and a comprehensive program of activities and excursions. In full-day teaching centers, students may

have their lessons in the mornings or the afternoons. In half-day teaching centers, lessons will take place in the

morning. The activity program will include daytime and evening activities and at least one half-day and one full-

day excursion per week to local attractions and popular tourist locations. Students are expected to be supervised

all day and evening.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

An Activity Manager (AM) is responsible for overseeing the activities department and managing a team of

Activity Leaders (ALs) to ensure that all organized activities and excursions are appropriately planned, staffed

and equipped for operation and ALs are fully briefed of their respective role for each event to execute smooth

operations. This position may require considerable amounts of walking on guided tours, carrying sports

equipment from the Center to the fields and moving furniture in preparation for indoor activities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

- To oversee a flawless operation of pre-arranged activities and excursions and high quality delivery of the

activities program

- To maintain positive working relationships and liaise with service providers such as coach/transportation

companies and entertainment venues

- To oversee, plan and promote a well-rounded activity program for the duration of the Center's operations

- To manage and plan, with direction from the Center Director, a staff rotation schedule that ensures adequate

staffing levels are met

- Ensure that appropriate training and briefings are provided for activity staff for all activities and

excursions

- To provide support and guidance to staff on activities including regular observations and feedback

- To provide and keep abreast of weekly progress notes and required paperwork as needed

- To ensure the activities schedules are clearly displayed and activities are actively promoted

- To assist the Center Director with coordinating student transfers where necessary

- To ensure and maintain proper levels of student discipline, welfare and safety of all students during activities

- To manage and motivate a team of Activity Leaders and establish a positive working environment among the team

- In collaboration with the Center Director, to carry out a 24-hour emergency on-call rotation schedule

- To assist in and ensure that scheduling residential supervision duties, including meal and bedtime supervision

and guardian duties, are undertaken by activity leaders who have on-site residential responsibilities

- To review all activity leader timesheets in line with the rotation schedule

- To assist the Center Director with the day-to-day running of the Center

- To lead and participate in regular meetings with Group Leaders

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Required:

- Experience leading and managing a staff including training, staff development and team-building

- Effective communication (written and verbal) and leadership skills

- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills

- Proven experience working with young adults or children

- Knowledge of the local area and leading activities or excursions in the area

- Demonstrates enthusiasm, diplomacy, patience, and flexibility which are essential when working with

international students and group leaders with varying English abilities

- Ability to manage, lead and inspire a team of staff effectively to work together as part of a dynamic team in a

varied and fast-paced role

- Proven organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to change in a high pressure

environment

Desirable:

- First Aid qualification

- Previous experience of supervising young adults and children in a camp or summer school setting

- Lifeguard and or/ other coaching qualification
