May 7, 2011

Washington DC, VA

Confidential

We are a small media production company that produces print publications and multimedia products on entertainment and media law. We are currently seeking short-term, part-time interns for summer to work on information products.

Interns will focus on copyright, trademark, contracts and related legal issues relevant to music, film, television, internet, book publishing, and promotional contests. Intern assignments will include case law analysis, legislative research, fact-checking, and the monitoring of trends in the entertainment and media industries.

Ideally, interns will work for at least 10 hours per week for eight weeks beginning in early June. This is a good opportunity for law school students and recent law school graduates who are interested in intellectual property, entertainment, and internet law and want to gain relevant experience quickly.

Benefits for interns include (i) training sessions in areas of substantive internet, entertainment, and promotional contest law with an attorney who is a principal of the company and (ii) credit on publications and informational products.

While interns will complete most assignments according to their own schedule and at their own site, all interns must have some availability during business hours to attend one weekly in-person meeting (about 90 minutes) in Washington, DC or Arlington, Virginia (locations are metro-accessible).

Candidate Requirements:

* Completion of at least one semester of law school

* Course work or direct experience in copyright, trademark, internet, entertainment law, promotional contests/sweepstakes, or related area.

* Availability for at least 8 weeks for a minimum of ten hours per week.

* Law journal, journalism, or other editing experience is highly desirable

To Apply:

If interested, please send a cover letter and a resume. In your cover letter, please (i) highlight your interest and/or experience in intellectual property, entertainment, or promotional contest/sweepstakes law and (ii) indicate the dates you are available for the internship.
