Being an Intern at ParkWhiz:

This is NOT your typical coffee-getting, faxing and filing internship position. The Social Media Intern at ParkWhiz is expected to contribute to the team from day one, helping execute our online marketing and social media strategy. You should understand how brands can promote ideas and communicate effectively using blogs, Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare. We're looking for someone with a can-do attitude - someone who's enthusiastic about tech, entrepreneurship, and marketing. This is a great opportunity to see the inner workings of a growing tech company and learn from a tight-knit team with a large network in the startup and tech communities. At the end of the internship you'll be able to see your imprint on the organization and will have delivered meaningful projects to list on your resume.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Manage company and industry related blog, including content creation, blog management, and promotion

Maintain brand identity on web, including publishing updates and interacting with customers on Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare

Remain updated on ALL marketing and market trends within the social networking space and internet in general

Help with offline marketing events and promotions

Requirements:

Expert understanding of social media tools, including blogging, Twitter, Facebook, and Foursquare

Team player with strong analytical and project management skills

Organized and detail-oriented individual who works well with deadlines

Experience with consumer-facing, interactive web sites

Willingness to learn, switch roles as necessary, and to roll up one's sleeves to get a job done

Excellent written and verbal English communication

Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-changing environment

A clear interest in marketing, publicity, and social media

Nice to Have:

Experience with internet marketing or consumer marketing

Journalism background; personal blog or significant writing samples

This paid position is a terrific opportunity to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, especially for someone who is interested in social media. If you think your particular skills and experience would add to our team, we would love to hear from you. The ParkWhiz internship program requires a commitment from early November through mid-February. and we will happily offer college course credit for your time here. Hours are flexible to accommodate your class schedule, but a commitment of 3 to 4 days each week, totaling 10 to 20 hours per week, is required. We recruit interns all year long.
