Life Rolls On Foundation (LRO), a subsidiary of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, is seeking an intern to assist with special events and quality of life programs. Founded by surfer Jesse Billauer, LRO is dedicated to improving the quality of life for young people affected by spinal cord injury and utilizes action sports (surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding) as a platform to demonstrate the infinite possibilities beyond paralysis. In addition to producing unique quality of life programs, Life Rolls On fosters spinal cord injury awareness and offers outreach to individuals and their families at the onset of injury. Celebrating its 10 year anniversary, Life Rolls On is the official charity of the Hurley US Open of Surfing and has been featured in national print, television and radio, including The Today Show, Dateline NBC, Good Morning America, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Los Angeles Times, In Touch, NY Post, The Chronicle of Philanthropy and much more. Responsibilities include supporting Life Rolls On fundraisers, programs and special events:

- Inclusive of soliciting auction items, tracking RSVPs, coordinating volunteers, overseeing special projects, solicitation and coordination of vendor and sponsor relations, day of event production and other duties as assigned

- Research and writing press releases and online content for Life Rolls On Foundation's official website and eNewsletter

- Maintaining Life Rolls On database of media clips

- Assisting with day-to-day operations of the organization, including, but not limited to filing, placing phone calls, proofreading, drafting letters and database management

- Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate must:

- Be an Undergraduate or Graduate Student able to receive class credit -- Public Relations, Communications, Non-Profit Management and Business Majors preferred

- Demonstrate an exceptional work ethic, with strong attention to detail, extraordinary organizational skills, ability to multi-task and significant drive to succeed

- Exhibit a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to work within a team-environment

- Present a polished, reliable and professional demeanor in both appearance and performance

- Be able to work independently, multi-task and meet deadlines

- Be computer-literate, proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Internet research techniques

- Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an ability to relate well with individuals of diverse backgrounds
