We are seeking a part-time Accounting Clerk for the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. The Dallas Convention Center has more than 1,500,000 square feet. And it offers a staggering 726,726 square feet of prime, contiguous exhibit space along with a 203,000-square-foot column-free exhibit hall, the largest in the U.S. Plus, the Dallas Convention Center offers even more great features, such as a 9,816-seat arena, a theater with a 1,750-person

Under limited supervision, this position assists the Accounting Department with all facets of the special catering events, including the planning and coordination of activities, menus and staffing needs.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION:

This position performs various accounting and analysis functions. As our singular goal is to be #1 in Event Hospitality, all of our managers, chefs and employees are "Hospitality Ambassadors."

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Generates credit application for VP approval

Prepares aging report for the General Manager

Invoice clients and reconcile client accounts

Audit and reconcile Stand Sheets

Prepares Expense Reports and send to CFO for payment

Generate weekly Starbucks Report

Maintain the Banquet Event Order binder

Maintain and check Daily Sales folder

Performs other task assigned by the Accounting Manager

Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time. (May work with HR department during slow periods)

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Required:

High school diploma.

2 - 5 years of strong accounting experience.

Ability to understand written and oral direction and communicate the same.

Ability to maintain and complete deadlines.

Working knowledge of MS Office with a strong emphasis in Excel and computerized accounting systems.

Ability to participate in team environment concepts.

Preferred:

Accounting or finance degree.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.

Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes)

Ability to access and produce information from a computer

Ability to physically walk approximately one-fourth ({1/4}) of a mile and the circumference of the unit several times a day
