Now seeking Events Coordinator/Administrative Assistant for Busy Meatpacking District Bar/Restaurant

The right candidate will have:

-- A minimum Bachelor's Degree education level. We prefer a degree in Public Relations/Marketing or other related fields.

-- Experience in the bar/restaurant industry.

-- Impeccable communication skills. Must have very high standards for email communication, an excellent phone manner and the ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner. Fluency in Spanish a plus.

-- Excellent organizational skills.

-- The ability to self-motivate and work independently with little guidance.

-- A very hard worker who can do any task that arises.

Duties include but are not limited to:

-- Answering all communication (phone and email) regarding reservations and booking parties. Organizing and maintaining an effective booking process for parties. Reaching out to future clients for potential events.

-- Coordinating all aspects of private parties : arranging menus, giving tours of the space, communicating the details of the event to the staff and expediting the events on site.

-- Light administrative duties.

This is an entry level position for someone who is looking for a long term career in the bar/restaurant industry with an emphasis on event planning. If you have worked as a server/bartender for years and want to see what else you can do with all that experience, this could be the job for you, too. You will be assisting the General Manager, but the emphasis will be on reservations and party booking. If you are a self-starter with the right energy and focus, you can create this position into what it needs to be. Salary will based on what you bring to the table.
