Job Title: Audio Visual Technician
Education: High School diploma or GED
Requirements: Valid Washington State Drivers License
1 year AV operations experience preferred
1 year hospitality industry experience preferred
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:
Repair, maintain, upgrade and install AV equipment for Microsoft Puget Sound.
Coordinate conference guest & business services for Multi Purpose conference rooms
Troubleshoot equipment and assist clients with conducting meetings in a fast paced environment.
Technical Duties:
Set up and removal of AV equipment throughout Microsoft Puget Sound
Provide customer service and specific AV assistance to clients including AV troubleshooting and operational assistance
Basic AV maintenance including AV cable interfacing, remote control battery replacement and emergency projector lamp replacement
Maintain pooled equipment for on and off site presentations
Meet and greet customers at the designated times.
Inventory equipment
Maintain equipment function checklist
Assist in maintenance and repair of AV equipment through escalation to engineering services
Provide timely and descriptive reports of equipment malfunction
Maintain neat appearance of AV cables and equipment
Input data for metrics tracking
Serve as contact between customers, vendors & MSCC staff for day-to-day event operations.
Review event schedules in Nautilus and ensure all room & facility requirements are communicated and met.
Work with Event Managers to communicate room requirements & changes as they arise.
Provide statistics and track services provided.
Work with MSCC Receptionists to facilitate customer requests, make recommendations, or coordinate travel arrangements.
Check & review all conference rooms prior to meetings start on a daily basis to ensure set up requirements are met. Walk through rooms to ensure all necessary items are secured, rooms are set/struck and/or ready to be re-set. Work with vendors to ensure all room information is understood.
Assist with materials or equipment which may be delivered by speakers, exhibitors, meeting planners or delivery companies. Log & track all items in/out. Assist with load in/out of materials/equipment within reasonable weight limits.
Post signage for meetings.
Inspect and maintain appearance/functionality of conference rooms for quality assurance and also responsible for facilitating work order escalations.
Create and maintain conference rooms database containing specifications, digital images, room directions (print & electronic versions), audio visual capabilities, standard room set up and peripheral inventory.
Monitor room usage (ie: no shows).
Deliver, set up and retrieve Polycom phones.
Assist with storing deliveries and materials for meetings using log procedures.
Provide information to janitorial staff to assist in room set up and cleaning schedules on a daily basis.
Communicate daily with event team to ensure all needs are being met.
Communicate and interface with EBC front desk staff.
Foster working relationships with all service related vendors.
Technical Expertise Required:
Competent in Computer Applications -- Access, Excel, Publisher, Power Point, Visio, FrontPage, Word, Internet and Outlook. Prior usage of Asset Management software a plus
Ability to use AV diagnostic equipment
Technical proficiency with video, audio, and projection equipment
