Job Title: Business Development Manager (BDM) for ActionCOACH Business Coaching (http://www.actioncoachempowerment.com)

Reports to: President & Business Development Director

Type of Position: Full-time

Compensation: $24,000/year base, bi-monthly commissions, and bonuses. Healthcare compensated at 50% of monthly fee.

Position Objective: To plan, develop, promote and execute business development, marketing, and sales activities in support of our Business Coaching firm. Business development activities will be targeted to the local small to medium-sized business community to generate leads, fill events and achieve other marketing and sales objectives in accordance to the company business plan.

Job Description: The BDM responsibilities are to support the business in critical marketing activities, projects and events. The BDM will also oversee all steps of sales process, make phone calls to prospects to schedule appointments with coaches, support the staff's ability to manage schedules and calendars. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Must fully comprehend and articulate the offer for each event

Proficiently present value that each event offers a business owner/attendee

Conduct outbound phone calls to target prospects, channels or clients

Promote upcoming events to the target prospects, channels or clients and establish opportunities

Execute on opportunities to register interested people for the events using the current registration form/process

Use networking activities for identifying targeted prospects and channels. (i.e. Chamber of Commerce)

Update prospect database for all team members as sales steps are completed

Weekly communicate in a report the results of your activities

Investigate coaching opportunities and business development for surrounding small businesses and schedule preliminary coaching appointments

Prepare a daily calendar to stay on target with goals and objectives.

Contact professional strategic alliance advisors such as an accountant, banker and/or lawyer to provide expert information about our business.

Network with small, medium, and large businesspeople and build relationships and referral systems.

Attend at least two networking event per week.

Succeed at cold-calling businesses, setting-up appointments, and feeding the sales pipeline.

Set up ten COD calls for the business development director every week.

Attend workshops, trade shows, and seminars to keep up-to-date on industries, companies, and opportunities.

Adopt a team approach; work with others in pursuing common goals.

General Skills: The skills requirement for the BDM is as follows:

Cumulative business experience of 5-7 years

Minimum of 2 years of Strategy Consulting, Market Research/Analysis experience or Sales experience

Strong problem solving skills. Capable of working with minimal supervision

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to express complex concepts in business terms required

Professional phone etiquette; apathetic towards rejection

Highly organized; maximizes the use of time

Effective presentation, organizational, and planning skills

Experienced gathering and synthesizing large quantities of technical, quantitative and qualitative data into information and directionally based insights and recommendations

Experience developing persuasive, data-driven analysis which leads to new marketing ideas and business innovations

Excellent written and oral presentation/communication skills

Propensity for highest quality production with firm grasp and appreciation for the "80/20" rule.

Computer Skills: Personal computer skills and intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook). Must have a working knowledge of the use and exploitation of the internet.

Special Requirements: Flexible work hours may be required to help support after-hour work activities such as seminars, coaching and preparation for major events.
