North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals (NCSHP)

Temporary/Contracted Position: Capacity Building Coordinator

The North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals (NCSHP) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit statewide organization whose mission is to promote education among Hispanic youth in North Carolina. NCSHP concentrates on the educational needs of Hispanic students. The intent of NCSHP is to develop and secure educational opportunities to improve Hispanic youth's success and school performance. The main area of coverage of NCSHP's activities is the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill). NCSHP's office is located in Cary, NC.

Position Title: Capacity Building Coordinator

Description: The Capacity Building Project Coordinator will be responsible for the operation, implementation and completion of the NCSHP Capacity Building Project under the direct supervision of the Director of Programs. The project includes formatting and completion of an NCSHP Operations Manual, building of the new NCSHP website using WordPress software, networking with existing Hispanic Organizations in NC, planning and execution of an educational training for Hispanic Organizations in NC, Coordination of marketing and communications strengthening strategies

Salary Range: $13.00 per hour for 9 months

Date of Employment: March, 2012

Office Hours: 15 hours/week, some evenings and weekends required.

Professional Qualifications and Candidate Profile:

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing or related field.

Excellent oral and written skills in English

Experience with working with diverse populations from varied social and economic backgrounds

Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills

Excellent verbal language skills in Spanish

Strong Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and databases

Ability to work independently with little supervision

Strong research skills

Excellent time-management skills

Flexible schedule

Excellent reporting abilities

Excellent computer and technical skills

Preferred:

Oral and written Spanish skills

Experience with creation of manuals

Experience with web development

Responsibilities: Specific job responsibilities include, among others:

Overall Project coordination and management

Production of operations manual

Organization of training event

Website development

Communications and Marketing strengthening
