The position organizes all logistical aspects and dining arrangements for clients various events.
Coordinates and manages the activities, functions, catering, needs for Holiday Parties, Weddings, Conferences, Private Parties, Company Picnic's, Bar Mitzvah's, Anniversary Parties, Fundraiser's, and monitors budget and expenditures for each event,
Assists with budget planning, purchasing, and inventory needs for all events.
Must have demonstrated experience in working in an upscale fast paced environment. Must be adept at communicating effectively with guests, vendors and staff, as well as motivating the team to perform to their maximum potential.
Qualifications
MUST HAVE CATERING EXPERIENCE
Direct work in special event or conference planning
Contract negotiations experience with vendors
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, Quickbooks
Demonstrated excellence with verbal and written communication skills
Availability to work some evenings and weekends
Proven ability to plan, implement, and coordinate events across a broad range of audiences; experienced in engaging and motivating others to accomplish goals.
Candidate should possess a "self-starter" attitude that can work well as a member of a diverse team.
Must be enthusiastic, flexible, and be able to work under pressure, discreet, and diplomatic.
Excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to serve, as an effective and persuasive representative of The Company.
Outstanding customer services skills a must; familiarity with local venues a plus.
Organized and efficient with an ability to multi- tasks and priorities.
Special attentiveness to details without losing sight of the big picture is ideal.
To provide even workflow prior to summer (late spring) and during summer months this position requires overtime flexibility
