Fairfax consulting firm seeks confident, detail-oriented communications specialist that enjoys administrative and project support. (Bachelors Degree required - MS/MBA preferred w/3-6 years experience in a professional environment). Challenging growth opportunity for a excellent writer and graphics designer who is ready to provide in-office and on-site support for including development of media and promotion material, verbal and written communications, and database management. Must have a positive attitude, excellent communication and English editing skills, dedication, and a high degree of integrity and diplomacy. Initial assignment is in Washington DC.

Initial duties include: 30% General business support (admin, logistics, calendar management, bookkeeping, and contributing to office productivity); 60% all forms of communications and public relations (preparing presentations, writing, editing, media management); and 10% Marketing, business development, and event coordination tasks. The work performed is considered business critical. Travel out of the area may be required.

Required skills: Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and multi-task in a busy environment; Must be strong in English, grammar, and copy editing; strong planning and execution skills to anticipate needs, keep things on track in a constantly changing environment; attention to detail and accuracy; resourceful, flexible, strategic thinker; ability to work effectively independently, w/excellent computer, and interpersonal skills; Expert MS Office Outlook, Power Point, Excel, and Word and proficient in other customer database management tools such as Constant Contact, and Adobe Illustrator, Quark Xpress, or other graphics design package. Experience supporting Federal Government is a plus. Applicants will be tested in the computer packages and in English editing skills during the interview process.

Required education and experience: Bachelors Degree required / Masters Degree preferred in communications or a related field / plus 3-6 years relevant work experience; Requires ability to travel out of state if required. Expenses covered.
