Event Account Manager/Sales
West Coast Event Productions, the premier event planning, design and rental company, servicing the Pacific Northwest has an immediate opening for account manager/sales person. The account manager's primary focus will be to maintain current customer accounts, as well as drive new market share by developing new business. This person works closely with a team of specialists to include interior designers, lighting designers and equipment specialists, to coordinate the necessary resources to effectively direct people and projects to ensure customer satisfaction and profitability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Manage client relationships using consultative sales techniques.
-Meet or exceed annual sales goals set by management.
-Generate and qualify sales leads.
-Close sales by building rapport with potential accounts, explaining product and service capabilities, overcoming objectives.
-Keep sales team informed of market climate, trends, opportunities and competitions challenges.
-Prepare sales action plans and schedules.
-Make outside sales calls to prospective client's as well as current accounts.
-Perform site inspections outside of office.
-Develop CAD site plans for installation of equipment.
-Create winning quotes and proposals that produce profit and provide value to the client.
-Create event contracts via computer to reserve client's equipment and staffing needs.
-Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
-Develop time and action for equipment set and strike and direct production meetings with project managers and/or EIC.
-Oversee the installation on major events with high profile exposure.
Job Requirements:
-Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking.
-Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments.
-Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.
-Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision.
-High attention to detail, customer service and expectations for quality.
-Bachelor's degree required; significant work experience can substitute for bachelor's degree.
-At least 5 years event outside sales experience-preferred.
-Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
-Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
-Strong negotiation skills
-Contribute to a team environment as a team player.
-Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
