SVN is seeking an enthusiastic self-starter to help plan two national conferences in 2012 (one in Spring and one in Fall) and a 25th Anniversary Hall of Fame celebration in November 2012. This volunteer fellowship is ideal for someone who is interested in:

A career in socially responsible/sustainable business, event management, or project management

Non-profit fundraising

Gaining exposure to leaders in the socially responsible business sector

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Deputy Director, the fellow will contribute to the planning and execution of SVN's two national conferences in 2012 (near Portland, OR in April and near New York City in November). Depending on the interest and experience of the selected candidate, responsibilities include:

Assist with speaker and VIP outreach and communication

Maintain speaker and session database

Assist in keeping up-to-date registration and hotel rooming lists

Logistical support for conference programs, Hall of Fame, and other events

Provide on-site support at one or both 2012 conferences

Required Skills

The ideal candidate has some work experience and is interested in sustainable business and/or the non-profit sector. We are particularly interested in the following skills:

Extremely detail-oriented

Energetic, collaborative personality with a high comfort level in a small-office setting

Flexibility to work effectively in a highly entrepreneurial nonprofit environment with diverse personalities

Ability to multi-task

Strong writing and communication skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Knowledge of Salesforce

html knowledge a plus

Fellowship Commitment

The ideal candidate would be able to commit to approximately 6-12 months, working 15-30 hours per week, to experience one or both 2012 Conferences. This position is non-paid, but we do offer some compelling benefits (below).
