The SolarCity Events Manager is responsible for planning and executing SolarCity-sponsored events nationwide, including SolarCity internal company events, "green" fairs, home and garden shows, municipality events, industry trade show, community workshops, speaking opportunities and ribbon-cutting celebrations with SolarCity partners and customers. The role involves long-term planning, tactical execution and managing internal stakeholders towards consensus on event themes, presentations, demos and messaging. The Events Manager provides strategic planning and execution on all events, in alignment with company marketing strategy. The individual is responsible for managing both internal and external resources to ensure successful event production and execution. Requires occasional travel to events, but most events are staffed by SolarCity sales team and executives. This position reports to the Director of Marketing.

Manages all aspects of event coordination including, but not limited to, budget creation, contract negotiation, site selection, coordination of attendee and speaker registration, agenda scheduling, audio/visual set-up, communications and IT needs, food and beverage selection, invitation process, staffing, on-site set-up and logistics.

Develops and distributes pre and post trade show summaries and recaps including budget and lead/ROI analysis as well as qualitative feedback to evaluate program/event success. Manages and distributes event leads.

Oversees events budget and all support materials and timelines such as project management timelines, ordering and managing giveaway inventory, managing company hotel block, and production of lead generation or marketing materials prior to trade shows

Individual will manage and oversee the responsibilities for all activities associated with the program, such as, venue selection, site inspection, hotel selection, contract negotiation, logistical planning, and on site facilitation.

Responsible for keeping booth properties in good working order, shipping of booths, signs, table drapes, supplies and other materials to event locations. Updating booth properties needing repair or updating for marketing campaigns.

Assigns and coordinates SolarCity event staffing team.. Ability to act as a group leader, oversee show setup team and delegate responsibilities.

Develops and manages budgets, working closely through event development and execution to manage and control costs.

Interfaces with numerous external vendors including suppliers, event venues, staffing agency, audio/visual companies, and exhibit contractors.

Individual will perform additional functions and administrative tasks as required for other programs within the SolarCity Marketing team.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of increasing responsibilities and experience in corporate event management or promotion management.

Individual must be highly detail oriented and demonstrate the ability to supervise multiple projects simultaneously and help to ensure deadlines are met.

Self-starter with strong organizational skills and proven track record of managing successful marketing or event programs.

Substantial budget management experience, including fiscal responsibility for very large budgets coming in on target. Meticulous in completing event contracts and order forms.

Customer focused, highly responsive attitude combined with an ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in pressured situations.

Ability to work with employees and representatives from other organizations.

Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

High degree of initiative with ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Excellent communication skills with a willingness to share ideas and contribute to a collaborative effort.

Advanced PC skills including MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint. Excel, Evite.

Proficient in using Salesforce.com lead and campaigns management system
