Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California is hiring:
POSITION TITLE: Events/Programs Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Executive Director.
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience
STATUS: Full time, with benefits.
LOCATION: San Francisco, 2 blocks BART (Montgomery).
The Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California (EFNC, www.epilepsynorcal.org) is a non-profit providing programs and services directed to the 140,000 people in Northern California with epilepsy and their families/care givers. Founded in 1953, EFNC is an affiliate of the national Epilepsy Foundation (www.efa.org) and our mission is to lead the fight to stop seizures, find a cure, and overcome the challenges created by epilepsy.
JOB OVERVIEW:
Responsible for implementing, planning and executing EFNC's outreach and awareness programs such as the Epilepsy Awareness Walk, Summer Camp for teens with epilepsy, and others. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: promotion, logistics, design and production of materials, budget and revenue goals, volunteer selection, recruitment and training, and ensuring all appropriate event follow-ups and acknowledgements are completed. Duties include development activities such as data base maintenance, appeal production and general support. Works internally with a collaborative and supportive team and externally with: contractors, volunteers, donors, and the broad epilepsy-centric community.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Plans and implements events and outreach programs
Represents the EFNC to partners, donors and the public
Other duties, as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Demonstrated experience organizing events
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively, be self-motivated
Strong attention to details, highly organized and able to manage to deadlines
Comfortable working occasional weekends and/or evening events
Knowledge or familiarity with health disability issues is a plus, but not required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 2 years' experience in nonprofit or related field
Bachelor's degree or equivalent college level degree required
Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with donor databases (Donor Perfect), donor management/communication programs (Kintera, Convio) a plus
Experience with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube
Non-profit experience a plus
Enthusiastic, can do attitude
Pass background check/fingerprinting
