Grant Writer -- Part Time
DESCRIPTION:
We have an immediate opening for a Grant Writer with a prestigious Non-Profit organization in West Palm Beach. The individual will be responsible for all grant writing activities and have A MINIMUM OF TWO YEARS OF experience in preparation and writing of state, federal and private foundation grant applications, with demonstrated success in procuring grant funding. Knowledge of federal/state legislative regulatory and grant funding processes; Strong project management, analytical and interpersonal skills. They must have experience in consensus building, group facilitation and/or collaborative techniques.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for ALL grant writing activities for including, but not limited to: soliciting corporate support, foundation support; and individual support. Dollar amount to be raised each year will be negotiated between the candidate and the CEO.
2. Oversees researching, writing, and submission of grant and foundation proposals that meet the goals outlined in the agency's strategic plan and annual budget. This will include the development of the budgets for all grant submissions.
3. Responsible to research and identify potential individuals and corporation as potential donators.
4. Responsible to manage and maintain grant database for tracking and grant information.
5. Establish and maintain effective relationships with segments of the community likely to give leads on potential donors such as attorneys, trust officers, accountants, insurance representatives, stock brokers, financial planners, etc.
6. Research and stay up to date on various advantages available, tax wise, and otherwise, in helping prospective donors to understand and recognize the benefits of charitable financial planning.
7. Responsible for preparation of all Grant Reports, including progress reports and final reports to the funders.
8. Attend all conferences, workshops, public hearings and any meetings pertaining to obtaining or maintaining funding.
9. Responsible in managing and staying within budget.
10. Remains informed about local, state, and federal standards and regulations pertaining to development activities.
11. Perform other duties as described by the Chief Executive Officer. This may include but not limited to special reports, special activities, and reports to the Board of Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
College graduate with relevant experience
Minimum 2 years event management experience; walk experience preferred
Significant skills in planning, budgeting, and volunteer development
Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Outlook and Excel
Available to work evenings and weekends
Self-starter
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Capable of building and sustaining relationships with a variety of individuals and businesses
Flexible and adaptable
Articulate in person and on the phone
Meticulous attention to detail
