Local Hotel is seeking an experienced Sales & Events Manager. This position requires someone who can multi-task and work with tight timeframes. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience with all types of events from weddings to birthday and anniversary parties and everything in between.
The Hotel Events Manager works with the Hotel General Manager to book event business through consistent solicitations, while establishing trust and rapport with clients to generate and boost revenues for the hotel. The Hotel Events Manager services new and existing accounts to ensure repeat business. Achieves revenue growth goals by working with the Hotel General Manager to plan and execute hotel event sales initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and implement an overall event sales strategy to encompass all areas of the hotel operation.
Maintain sales volume and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
Assist with sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Identify current and future customer service requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons to understand service requirements.
Prepare all event planning documentation and coordinate with all hotel operations to ensure flawless event execution.
Ensure a seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales.
Recognize opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events.
Manage the operational costs in line with approved budget parameters.
Knowledgeable about the hotel property, and associated amenities and programs.
Assist in developing a marketing plan to increase and maximize the business potential, along with ongoing competitive reviews.
Serve as the event planner's primary contact on property.
Must attend bridal and trade shows.
Responsible for following up with customers after event to assure the customer was satisfied within the event.
Compliance with statutory (and legal) requirements for Health and Safety at work.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
BA / BS degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Sales Manager selling events and weddings for a recognized hotel company in the Las Vegas.
Must have existing client base across all market segments.
Strong negotiations skills
Must have exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Great attention to detail.
Excellent PC skills (Excel, Word); POS experience.
Sitting, standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs, kneeling, and lifting up to 15 lbs.
Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to Company standards.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
