Human Factors Recruiter
IDEO Bay Area is seeking someone to be responsible for supporting the Design Researchers and their design teams in multiple ways including recruiting research participants directly and managing external participant recruiting agencies. Success in this role will require developing an understanding of the research process and practices. We are looking for a professional team player with a positive, collaborative can-do attitude, who is sensitive to the needs of research and design, comfortable with phone interactions with a "sixth sense" about people on the other end of the line, experienced with data entry and fanatical about follow-up.
The position will be officially located in our Palo Alto office.
Desired qualities:
-Natural sensitivity to the intricacies of human behavior - enjoys working with and talking to many kinds of people.
-Ability to thrive in work that operates on tight turnaround times, evolving requirements and high level of attention for detail.
-Expertise in managing and coordinating projects such as participant recruiting efforts both internally and with outside participant recruiting agencies.
-Ability to negotiate and explore solutions to challenges in high stress situations, to be adaptive and resourceful with contingency plans and to incorporate specific regulations (e.g. medical, privacy etc.) and ethical considerations into work flow.
-Deep knowledge of the San Francisco Bay Area is a plus, as well as broad personal and professional networks and the ability to scout out locations for observations and make arrangements.
-Natural talent for understanding human centered design issues and a desire to learn more about the methodology.
-Talent and creativity for planning research events involving groups such as large group conversation events, expert panels and other interactive workshops.
-Extremely organized with strong attention to detail.
-Experience with survey creation a plus (survey monkey, google forms, etc).
-Interest in quantitative data and experimentation with tools and processes a plus.
-Ability to cold call and seek new contacts.
Additional Skills Required
-Qualified candidates should be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. InDesign knowledge is a plus.
-Background and experience in Social Science or Event Planning a plus
