Challenge Nation is in search of amazing interns for its first internship class this Spring/Summer. Launched in 2010 and based in Washington, DC, Challenge Nation (www.challengenation.com) is in the "fun business"--we're expanding rapidly and currently produce dozens of urban adventure race events in cities all across America each year. In 2012, we'll be visiting 34 different cities and our interns will play a huge role in making that happen.

This five month paid internship opportunity is designed to lead to a full time position with the company--we will be hiring our first full time staffers this season and we only hire from within. The internship will last from late-February to to early-June. The program has two major components and the ideal candidate will possess the skills, personality, and experience to excel at both of them:

First, you'll spend approximately 3-4 days a week in our DC office helping to build interest in each of our weekly events from a marketing perspective. Contacting interest groups to build awareness, devising social media strategies to garner online buzz, and outreach to traditional media outlets will be the primary responsibility of our interns.

The second major component is traveling to our event cities and directing the production of each of our events. In the latter half of the program (May/June), interns will travel to an event city, assist with producing event, then return to DC, all expenses paid.

The third and final major component is graphic design experience. We are looking for someone who can also help with our social media and website presence and improve the design therein. Please include details about your design experience.

Requirements:

-The ability to work from (approx) late February to June 2nd (or perhaps a little beyond)

-A college degree in marketing, business, or public relations is preferred.

-The ability to travel throughout the internship is required

-The four DC office days a week and your hours are highly flexible

-A valid drivers license is required.

-Compensation is a $500/week stipend for each week.
