Birdies for Cures is a newly formed non-profit in Chicagoland area. Our mission is to create awareness and raise money for the fight against cancer. Our initial goal is to raise money for St. Jude Children's Hospital until we have an established strong footing in the philanthropic community allowing us to work towards supporting our own specific causes.

Our first event is a large golf outing, along with a sit down dinner and silent auction. We have other potential events being planned and are looking for opportunities to grow. Our current Marketing Manager volunteering their services, is a Senior Manager in Business Development at Jones Lang Lasalle and would provide the potential intern with guidance and knowledge that would allow them to excel in their future career.

Job Title: Marketing Intern

Reports to: Marketing Manager

Description: Birdies for Cures (www.birdiesforcures.org) is a newly formed Non-Profit in the Chicagoland area seeking a creative, detail-oriented college student with strong communications and marketing skills to assist the Marketing Manager. Opportunity to gain valuable experience while working on a variety of communication projects involving social media, public relations and strategic planning.

Location: Bartlett, IL (Majority of work and communication done via email with potential for occasional meetings in Chicago.)

Time Commitment: Part-time, The internship is somewhat flexible and can be adjusted based on intern's needs.

Compensation: The internship will begin non-paid with a potential opportunity for compensation in the future.

Responsibilities: The Marketing Intern will:

Assist with sourcing topical ideas and content for monthly electronic communications.

Assist with updating content on company's website including monthly newsletter, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and YouTube.

Update media (broadcast, print) contact list.

Assist Marketing Manager with programming and implementation special events as scheduled.

Assist Marketing Manager with creation of marketing material, including basic graphic design and creation of letter campaigns.

Required Qualifications:

Strong interest in marketing, social media, writing, and website development.

Ability to work independently and juggle multiple tasks at once.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to take initiative and perform follow up.

Excellent computer skills.

Posses a friendly, outgoing personality.

Preferred Qualifications:

Interest in long range planning for marketing strategies.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office, InDesign, Photoshop and Database Management Hiring Organization: Birdies for Cures
