This is a unique opportunity to make vital connections in the Media, Entertainment and Sports industries. You will help Examiner.com writers and photographers ("Examiners") obtain access to events of all magnitudes from the red carpets to the pro locker rooms. We have helped our Examiners obtain media credentials to attend events such as the Oscars, Grammys, MTV Video Music Awards, World Series, Daytona 500 and the Olympics. This is ideal for someone who wants to develop a professional reputation and career in journalism, public relations or event planning.

Duties:

Assist the director of the program in the following:

Researching national, regional and local events and the processes for obtaining media credentials

Reviewing recent event coverage for promotion on the site

Researching public relations and media companies to find key contacts

Building a calendar of upcoming events

Helping find writers and photographers for events in multiple cities

Qualifications:

Online research skills

A major in Communications, Journalism, English or related field

Interest in the Media industry

Familiarity with Excel

Highly organized and detail-oriented

Understanding of event planning is a plus
