The Mount Sinai School of Medicine/Mount Sinai Hospital will be hosting a 2011 Open House for Researchers (Clinical & Laboratory), Lab Coordinators, IRB Analysts and Biostaticians.

IRB Analyst
Responsible for reviewing caseload of applications related to human subjects research projects submitted for Institutional Review Board (IRB) review and maintains data archiving system. Prepares drafts of institutional approval reports according to departmental policies and guidelines. Composes and distributes correspondence to investigators on behalf of the Board, Directors, or Chairs. Maintains documentation and records in accordance with departmental policies and procedures and ensures that all records are secured and properly archived.
Clinical Research Coordinator
The Clinical Research Coordinator assists in the daily activities of clinical research studies, obtains informed consent; collects, maintains and organizes study information. Assists in preparing grant applications and documents (for e.g., Institutional Review Board, Grants and Contracts Office).
Biostatistician
The Biostatistician is responsible for providing statistical support, including study design, sample size and protocol development in support of clinical projects. Prepares statistical analysis plans, generates statistical summary tables and performs database integration for more comprehensive analyses.
Clinical Research Associate
The Clinical Research Associate monitors all aspects of clinical research trial(s) and performs analytic activities involved in the planning, conduct and completion of a clinical trial(s). Clinical study life-cycle responsibilities including site management, ongoing maintenance and closure of pre-clinical, Phase I through Phase IV, and post-marketing studies.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's in Science or closely related field or equivalent experience.
Master's degree in biostatistics or related field.
Associate Researcher
Under moderate supervision, conducts routine and standardized experiments using advanced techniques specific to the research project. Collects, analyzes and assists in the interpretation of research data.
Research Assistant
Under direct supervision, performs experiments and procedures as assigned; provides support services for research projects. Assists with simple to moderately complex experiments using standard techniques in area of specialty assigned; maintains data/results of all experiments.
Clinical Research Assistant
Assists in the daily activities of clinical research studies, collects, maintains and organizes study information. Assists in preparing grant applications and documents (for e.g., Institutional Review Board, Grants and Contracts Office).
Minimum Education:
Associates Degree in science (or related field) or HS/GED plus two years of related experience.
