Job Description
Job Title: Safety Manager
Summary: Plans, directs, and implements organization safety program to ensure safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
EHS Safety manager duties may include but are not limited to:
Apply the practices and policies of the Black Box Safety IIPP manual.
Ensure all safety and orientation training has taken place for new and existing employees.
Attend and participate in all Safety meetings pertaining to the scope of work assigned.
Enforce, administer, and manage the Black Box Buddy Policy.
Conduct Safety training, tool box meetings, post Safety Topics and engage employees in all safety programs. Prepares and arranges safety exhibits and material for display, promotional work, industry conferences, and exhibitions.
Perform administrative tasks, ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and submitted on line or as required.
Maintain a record of all safety related documents for future reference, i.e. PTP, SPA, MSDS sheets, etc.
Identify hazards in the workplace and develop Risks Analysis, Method Statements, and Job Hazard Analysis as required.
Develop training programs where warranted to apply to specific scope challenges. Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices.
Conduct and record audits and inspections throughout the project.
Participate in SMBWA programs. Inspects facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Follow, complete and submit SIPPS as required by Intel policy.
Investigate incidents and compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
Ensure the emergency response plan is in place and employees are educated in the plan.
Ensure Contract compliance with Safety Policies.
Essential Skills and Abilities include the following:
Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
In the event of an injury, works with HR to reduce or minimize employee lost time.
Education/Experience:
Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. OSHA certified
Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Sets goals and objectives; Organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; Develops realistic action plans.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

Employment for this position would begin with first being a contractor with the possibility of being hired by the client anytime after 90 days of successful job performance.
