Scope:

Identify and implement mitzvah/social action projects for youth ages 10 to 14. Assist the youth in developing relationships with each other and deepening their roots at Beth Ahm.

Background:

Must be a dynamic and motivating leader who can excite youth and be able to communicate effectively with both youth and parents. Strong planning and creative skills are needed. Previous Jewish camp and/or youth group experience is preferred.

Job Tasks:

Identify fun and creative mitzvah/social action projects in both the Jewish and general communities which the youth can do in large or small groups.

Publicize the events to the youth and their parents in an exciting way. May include phone calls, email, facebook, etc. Will also have to coordinate communications with the Congregation's communications associate for inclusion in the bulletin and other Congregational publicity.

Participate in the event to help coordinate the youth activity and develop relationships with the youth.

Conduct post event evaluations with the youth and parents. Use feedback to help plan future events.

Conduct outreach to include more youth in activities and facilitate camaraderie amongst the youth.

Serve as a positive role model for the youth.

Goals:

Plan and implement approximately 10 events per year.

Through programming, the youth should develop relationships with others, strengthen their own Jewish identities, and deepen their connection with the Congregation.

Parents should have positive views of the youth program and be able to see the program as an avenue for their children and family to connect with the Congregation.
