Higher End Company seeking Assistant Designer for Dressline Design Team. We are looking for someone with a strong design background with an emphasis on fabric.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Fabric development

Fabric research based on direction from designer

Meeting with fabric vendors, sampling fabric, following up on fabric orders and maintaining productive relationships with fabric vendors

Doing trim sheets (including following up with relevant departments on issues)

Doing overseas developments and following up on issues, delivery, accuracy, etc.

Working with Accounts Payable to ensure trim and fabric is delivered and documented as such so that vendors get paid

Ensure proper and professional showing of samples for Market Week

Communicate with sample room workers

Ensure all basic trims are ready for sample room workers as soon as possible

Assist Design Director in finding new and appropriate trim for relevant garments

Follow direction of Design Director in the development of the line

Attend domestic trade shows

Research trends and interpret to our customer

Maintain trim library, including organizing the trims and tracking orders

Communicate with trim vendors in order to get the best trim for the garments

Develop trim, as per direction of Design Director, when needed

Be aware of trends within the dress industry and trim industry

Requirements:

Degree in Design

Illustrator and Photoshop a must

3 years experience preferred

Candidate must be able to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail

Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
