Assistant Technical Designer / Production Manager for Fashion Management Agency (Flatiron)

We are a small, entrepreneurial creative business management agency providing strategic and operational support to a diverse set of fashion and lifestyle companies, with a focus on apparel, accessories, and consumer brands. We are looking for a strong junior technical designer / production manager to do the following for our firm's clients:

Responsible for overseeing technical design, product development and production

Communicating daily with domestic and overseas factories to ensure timely deliveries and quality product

Communicating and negotiating with mills and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of fabrics and trims and the best possible prices

Help with sourcing new factories, mills and trim suppliers

Creating and updating spreadsheets that track all essential information for all styles

Quality control of all merchandise

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

Must have a bachelors degree from a technical design program

Must be extremely organized, neat and able to multi-task

Must have 1-2 yrs technical design or production experience with apparel production

Working technical understanding and knowledge of garment construction, specs and tech packs

Both domestic and overseas production experience a big plus

Contacts or the ability to source local and overseas apparel factories and suppliers a major plus

Must have experience with costing

Must have quality control experience

Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel

Experience with better contemporary or designer level brands a plus
