Eco-Swimwear Line -Assistant To Designer- Debut Fashion Show Prep (Los Angeles, Ca)

You will be working alongside the designer/owner of our environmentally conscious swimwear line, assisting her in a great variety of tasks all centered around prep for our debut Sustainable Swimwear fashion show. This is an all-encompassing position where the intern will have the opportunity to learn a little of everything it takes to run a unique eco-fashion line. The perfect candidate must be eco-conscious, open-minded, and a hardworker, willing to get their hands dirty. This is a 6 week long internship position to begin immediately. If the chosen candidate is successful and shows interest in future work with us, this could be a possibility. The ideal candidate is a deadline sensitive, self-starter, innovative, organized, highly punctual, and multi-faceted (able to wear many hats). Duties could include the following plus... running small errands, office mgmt/organization, hand sewing and seam ripping, internet research, fabric organization and classification, social media networking, website updates. Candidates must work well alone and in group settings. Being the amount of work that needs to be completed in a short amount of time, this will be a rapid moving internship... only suitable for a hard worker who is highly passionate about eco-fashion. Looking for roughly 10-14 hours per week of work... intern will be compensated with a meal each work day, plus many additional opportunities/incentives to be had for the accomplished intern. Also, College Credit is available. Specifically we are located in Eagle Rock/Highland Park area between downtown and Silverlake.

Requirements:

-Must have reliable transportation

-Must be available primarily weekends and nights

-Familiarity with LA's fashion district

-Proficient on a Mac computer

-Highly experienced in blogging, facebook, twitter, tumblr, etc.

-Additional experience in iWeb and/or Wordpress.com preferred

-Basic knowledge of cutting, pattern-making, machine and hand sewing a plus

-Trade show experience a plus

-Fashion show experience a plus

-Event planning experience a plus
