VNU Retail Group, LLC is an online retailer with a unique market position offering consumer financing for prestigious brands of consumer electronics, computers, home entertainment, fashion, jewelry, home products and much more.

We are currently seeking a full-time Buyer of Fashion to join our management team. This individual will be responsible for managing our entire fashion categories of handbags, sunglasses, fragrance, jewelry and launching new fashion categories such as apparel and other related accessories for our two websites www.venue.com and www.emporium.com. We are a rapidly growing company with a work environment that is fast-paced and entrepreneurial. This position offers excellent growth opportunities for the right person. We are seeking a qualified team member who is able to rapidly think on their feet and who is capable of contributing to the productivity of the company as a whole.

The Fashion Buyer reports directly to the Executive Vice President of Merchandising and will be responsible focusing in the following areas:

Manage and grow our Handbag, Sunglasses, Fragrance, Jewelry and Watch brand assortment. (we currently do not stock inventory and need to secure vendors/suppliers that will pick, pack and ship products directly to our customers home)

Research, identify and secure name brand fashion apparel vendors/suppliers needed to support this new business opportunity.

Select fashion assortment, negotiate product costs and marketing support.

Selection of products and product categories for inclusion in our various marketing/catalog materials and channels.

Establish, grow and manage long term supplier relationships.

Negotiate with suppliers and improve overall profit margins for all categories.

Perform quality control review of the content and presentation on both websites.

Develop compelling promotions to drive sales.

Manage the daily responsibilities for Fashion, Jewelry and Apparel categories.

REQUIREMENTS:

Understanding of current fashion trends targeted at the 25 to 40 year old female.

The ability to anticipate future fashion styles and trends.

Previous fashion and/or jewelry buying experience.

Passionate as well as confidant and comfortable cold calling new suppliers on the phone.

Internet savvy searching and securing new potential suppliers.

Detailed oriented with excellent follow up skills.

Hard working team player with a "can do positive attitude".

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Bachelor's degree in business or fashion (preferred).

Minimum of 2 years retail buying experience.

This is a full time position and our office is currently located in Westlake Village, we plan on moving in to our new offices by March 2012 located in Sherman Oaks, CA.

Starting annual salary is in the range of $55,000 to $60,000 plus benefits, depending on experience.
