Job Description: Sales Manager
Job Purpose: Manages the store by performing related duties. This position reports to the Owner.
Duties:
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Responsible for maintaining current inventories and updating software system.
Responsible for and assists owner with day to day sales activities.
Maintains Weekly, Monthly sales targets as prescribed by Owner
Maintains professional appearance of the store and organizes fabrics to ensure easy access and organization.
Has a friendly and upbeat attitude and maintains positive customer interactions.
Maintains a clean area both within the shop floor and warehouse areas.
Manages inventory, interacts with vendors and perform buying activities for the fashion season per quarter. Answers telephone
Operates cash register and maintains accurate sales figures and inventories in the cash register.
Other duties as prescribed by the Owner
Skills/Qualifications:
2-7 years retail sales experience
Knowledge of computer software and how to navigate in a windows environment.
Familiar with cash register software system.
2-7 years prior experience in the fabric/textile industry a must. Knowledge of fabrics and sewing techniques a must non-negotiable.
High School Diploma
Good communication and writing skills.
