Non-Paid INTERN NEEDED
We are currently seeking a Marketing Intern for Winter 2011 for 15-20 hours a week (hours are flexible). We are a D.C metropolitan based small business seeking creative talent to fill a part-time social media marketing position. Candidates should be detailed oriented and possess the technical skills and creative flare for marketing and web-based/social media communications. An strong interest in fashion, style, image management, and personal branding is desired.
Responsibilities
The individual will be responsible for assisting the company President in generating publicity through various online communication tools and social media activities to include, maintaining the company's web-based media and social media outlets including the corporate website, Face Book Fan page, Blog, Twitter and general communications. Additional responsibilities include:
Event planning and execution support
Strategic planning, marketing research, and business development
Assisting with quarterly newsletters, articles for magazines, and other marketing communications
Administrative duties as required
This part-time position will require approximately 10-12 hours per week and will be performed virtually, with occasional in-person touch base meetings.
Requirements:
The #1 qualification is professionalism -- this encompasses a variety of qualities, including promptness, attention to detail, good written and oral communication skills, and integrity to do what you say you will do. In addition:
Proficient using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Experience or strong interest in learning Social Media and Email Marketing
Internet and database skills, strong organizational skills; ability to work independently; strong attention to details.
Experience or interest in fashion, style, image management, etiquette or personal branding is preferred but not required
Knowledge in graphic design software programs is a plus.
