Pt Intern - Fashion/Admin (West Loop)

Looking for a part-time intern to assist West Loop based fashion designer. Tiny start up company that designs, manufactures, and sells women's contemporary apparel needs help with a wide range of tasks, primarily general office organization. Like all small businesses, we do it all and need someone equally versatile. We need a "pitch-in and help wherever you need it" attitude. Someone willing to do the boring stuff of managing paperwork, data entry, samples, and if you're up to the task, more intellectually challenging tasks of researching pr opportunities or possibly writing a press release. Read below and if you're interested jot me a note outlining your background and why this situation sounds interesting to you. Please note that this is a non-paying internship. Happy to work with students who need school credit or those exploring fashion as a career.

Requirements:

- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, willing to learn, willing to pitch in and do whatever is needed even if it means filing or running the trash out

- Strong organizational skills

- Interest and/or background in fashion

- Non-smoker

- Available during standard business hours

Nice to have:

- Knowledge of some of the following software - Illustrator, Photoshop, Numbers, Filemaker (mac based office)

Possible Tasks:

- General office organization

- Documentation of garment specs

- Researching marketing opportunities

- Building and maintaining database

- Web updates including light photography

- Light graphic design work

Compensation:

- Sorry this is a non-paying internship but you will get some clothes, lunch, paid parking. I'm also happy to teach and share info if you want to learn more about the fashion industry. Hours are very flexible, daytime hours.
