Looking for an all-star that has the passion to pursue a career in the apparel/fashion industry and LOVES Bikinis. If you have knowledge in marketing and public relations (with focus in the fashion industry) this internship could be exactly what you are looking for.

This is a non-paid internship positon, but college credit is available upon approval.

PR intern will work 10-15 hrs per week. Duration of this internship will be 3 months.

Intern needs to have the ability to work from home independently, be self motivated and goal directed.

PR & Marketing Internship

Responsibilities:

* Ability to keep the Blog and FB fan page current, which usually means publishing a minimum of 1 article per week (150- 300 words) and replying to comments

* This year we will show our 2012- 2013 collection on March 31st for the 1st time at www.metropolitanfashionweek.net . Our Designer/founder Niveen H. is the Fashion Creative Director of MFW. She will need you to help her with participating Designers, Model Castings,logistics,backstage etc.

*Aiding in creating lists for PR out reach.

* Helping out at events and preparing event materials such as gift bags, flyers etc.

* Assist with Public Relations including celebrity / product placement, press releases, media contacts, etc.

* Handling RSVP/ guest lists at events and being able to help and put together a fashion event.

* Building relationships with fashion magazines and bloggers to promote our brand.

* General admin duties and special projects as needed.

* Opportunity to shadow photoshoots

Qualifications:

*Able to write engaging articles using solid writing skills.(spelling, grammar, etc.)

* Desire to build a fan base for the Brand and understand our customer.

*Technically savvy, able to learn and utilize web, publishing tools and internet applications.

*Ability to work at home independently, be self motivated and goal directed.

* Knowledgeable of Mac OS X MS Office, and Adobe programs (preferred)

* Knowledge of the lifestyle / street culture including stores, brands, magazines, blogs, etc.

*Organized thinker that loves creating efficient systems

* Outgoing personality
