Position available for a full time (40 Hrs/Wk) state certified, Activity Director for two AL/ALZ communities in the Tomball area. Applicants must possess a current NCCAP/CTRACTX certification, or be able to be certified within 6 months of the date of hire. Required qualifications also include, but are not limited to: knowledge of basic computer software applications including the MS Office family of programs, basic graphic design abilities (Printmaster/Adobe Illustrator), and the ability to operate common office equipment. Applicant must also possess a high degree of organizational ability, including the ability to plan/organize activity programs and calendars at least two months in advance. Applicant must possess advanced communication skills as well as the ability to positively interact with elderly individuals in a fun and dynamic environment. Applicant's personal character must be of the highest caliber, and applicant must possess the ability to deal with stressful situations while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times. Experience working with an elderly community or activity program in an assisted care environment is highly desired. Other desired traits include a creative and energetic personality, patience, the ability to multi-task, and the ability to work with and lead a coordinated team effort. Applicant must possess sound leadership skills including the ability to positively motivate subordinates, and the ability hold subordinates accountable for completing assigned tasks.
