Job Description:




GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Manages creative design (creation & production), advertising and public relations operations.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move freely about the Casino. Regular, predictable attendance required; requires normal vision range and absence of color blindness; requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:Work may be performed in areas, which are unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoke-filled, and dimly lit or illuminated. Work may also be performed in an office environment.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (includes, but not limited to, the following):

Generate positive publicity through all types of media.

Oversee the relationship with the outside advertising agency.

Identify creative jobs; open jobs with agency, give creative direction and approval, submit invoices.

Establish monthly advertising forecast and maintain monthly budgets.

Act as liaison to Public Relations Firm.

Assist Director of Marketing with all creative and strategic advertising efforts.

Generate concepts/ promotional ideas.

Oversee the regular maintenance of the resort website.

Develop the content and frequency of the e-mail blast program.

Maintain competitive analysis calendar and monitor competition.

Serve as the initial contact between media and the Casino and develop positive relationship media reps in print, television, radio, and outdoor.

Develop and distribute press releases and photographs involving the property.

Develop events that create positive publicity for the casino.

Create a Plan to launch the in-house advertising agency corporation.

Assess the hardware and software needs for the graphic art staff.

Determine all outside print vendors (Print, AVI, Software, etc.).

Maintain appropriate staff.

Develop a transition plan from an external ad agency to an in-house ad agency.

Place all media and award all print production.

Develop various department specific marketing plans (includes advertising) and associating collateral materials.

Develop a new customer acquisition marketing plan

Assist in developing property-wide casino promotions.

Develop programs and effective advertising campaigns to stimulate casino patronage.

Develop Community Marketing programs that would increase casino patronage for the property.

Oversee the execution of the casinos charitable contribution efforts (serve on committees as needed).

Other job-related duties as assigned.










Requirements
GAMING INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Must have excellent customer service skills and ability to resolve conflict. Knowledge of casino and hotel operations, gaming special events and Detroit based events. Knowledge of media creation design and production. Must be computer literate. Ability to understand and comply with all departmental and Company rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Advertising or related field.

Experience: Minimum three (3) years experience in management position.

MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A LEVEL2GAMING LICENSE
