The Communications Specialist is charged with supporting the company's expansion through the delivery of exceptional communications to both new and existing customers. Working directly with the company's leadership team and the company's external public relations company, you will develop and deliver communications targeting new customers through social media, blogs, emails, texts, and advertising. You will also interface directly with individual customers who seek support in using the web application, ensuring that every touch point with a customer results in a positive experience. Because you will become a prominent voice of the company, you must be skilled in both written and verbal communication and also be highly adept with social media. The right candidate will be versatile and open to contributing to a wide variety of company projects as needs change in a highly dynamic environment.

The company is based in the western suburbs of the Minneapolis, Minnesota metro area (Excelsior).
Responsibilities
Develop, execute, and administer direct communications efforts designed to attract new customers and partners
Develop the company's social media presence
Develop online ads for the company / perform necessary trafficking to go from production to implementation
Create collateral / support materials for marketing efforts and web content
Support users of the company's consumer web application by directly interfacing via telephone, e-mail, or online chat, owning inquiries from initial contact through to resolution.
Partner with other team members in responding to support requests that require specialized technical or business expertise
Participate in product enhancement planning, serving as an internal advocate for the customer experience
Participate in quality assurance testing for product enhancements
Assist with miscellaneous company projects as needed
Position Requirements
The successful candidate must:
have completed a four-year college degree program, preferably in communications, public relations, or marketing
have strong written and oral communication skills
exhibit strong interpersonal skills and a service orientation
be self-motivated, self-directed, and display sound professional judgment
have strong prioritization, organization, and time management skills
be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
have a fundamental understanding of consumer web applications and be "tech savvy"
have an interest in being part of a growing start-up company and have a solid understanding of the risks, opportunities, and evolving environment / needs
be versatile and open to contributing to a wide variety of company projects as customer support volume allows
exhibit personal integrity and have the ability to appropriately manage proprietary information
It's a plus if a candidate has:

graphic design capability
