Overview of Internship:

This internship will provide exposure to utilizing new media in a non-profit setting, using strategic communications across a variety of platforms to support the mission of Fair Trade USA. From creating Facebook promotion to making recipes to post on Pinterest, the ideal candidate will have a passion for the ability of social media to change the world around them. All tasks will help you to prepare for a career in the evolving world of marketing. Successful interns will complete the program with several professional work samples and a glowing letter of recommendation.

Primary responsibilities may include any or all of the following:

Support with creating shareable content, from photos to recipes to blog posts

Planning and execution of partner promotions

Writing and/or editing farmer impact reports

Coordinating grassroots & community-focused marketing activations

Increasing awareness of Fair Trade through social media

Requirements:

Candidate must display excellent verbal and written English communication skills, as well as a keen interest in learning more about social media's role in creating a sustainable supply chain. A writing sample will be required as part of the application process. Organizational skills a must. The ideal candidate will have very active social media profiles. Experience with photography, graphic design and HTML a plus.

Schedule: 10 or more hours/week for a minimum of 3 months
