Purpose:Manage the conceptual development, execution, delivery and expense of all graphic design solutions for retail, merchandising, design, marketing and other corporate channels.
Core Accountabilities:
Develop strategies that continue to grow Eddie Bauer as a premium, authentic, outdoor brand through inspiring and innovative graphic design.
Direct the execution of graphic design to support all business channels, including: retail signage, hangtags, banners, window and in-store graphics, apparel labels, packaging, bags, marketing materials, advertising, etc.
Build strong cross functional partnerships with internal teams to effectively define criteria and graphic design objectives.
Ensure graphic design solutions accurately communicate product qualities consistent with Eddie Bauer brand image.
Coordinate the brand look and feel across business channels to ensure consistency; serve as guardian of brand standards.
Serve as graphic design department representative on seasonal concepting team.
Lead, develop and support graphic design team to execute work that meets brand objectives in all business channels.
Lead creative concepting and manage the brand integrity with graphic design team.
Actively manage licensing logo system to efficiently and seamlessly support licensed product.
Ensure that design efforts consistently demonstrate quality, control, and the highest standards of design excellence. This includes typographic expertise and an excellent eye for color.
Track and monitor current styles, marketing and design trends in competitive retail market and implement as appropriate to the Eddie Bauer brand.
Accountable for the graphic design department budget including forecasting, freelance budget, invoice monitoring/reporting and monthly budget reconciliation.
Education/Experience Required:
BA or BFA preferably in graphic design or fine arts.
8+ years in graphic design in advertising or corporate environment.
5+ years team management experience.
Possess excellent time management skills, a love of design, and a conceptual and strategic mind
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence others.
Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to shifting priorities in highly collaborative environment.
Full proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign).
