Professional organization in Alexandria, Virginia is currently seeking a Freelance Graphic Designer to assist our team. We have an immediate need for assistance with one publication, with the possibility to assist with others in the future.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Payment will be one fixed price payment per job based on an hourly rate of $15 per hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- First job, assist in designing a cover and flowing the cover design through a 20 to 30 page publication to create a unified looking text.

-- If first job goes well, opportunity to assist on similar projects in the future, assisting with the development of print projects from icon and web graphic creation to print brochures and publications.

- At times, follow through on an established design direction to produce elements as part of a campaign.

- Quickly understand project needs and efficiently deliver high quality results.

This IS a position for someone who has a regular 9-5 job and is willing to do freelance on the side.

Must provide final InDesign or Photoshop files on CD/DVD and produce useable PDF files that can be downsized to produce final documents of 1MB to 2MB size that can be sent to recipients by e-mail.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Strong design skills with proven experience.

- Ability to work on a sequence of projects, usually we can predict deadlines a month in advance.

- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite CS -- InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, with an emphasis on InDesign -- using your computer at your home or office.
