Creative advertising agency is seeking a freelance Photo Researcher. The Photo Researcher will play a key role as a dedicated resource for finding and maintaining photos. This role is perfect for someone with knowledge of the print and electronic reproduction process, a keen eye for photography, and excellent organization skills.

The ideal candidate is passionate about all things art and photography and is familiar with a wide array of photographers, image resources, and research techniques. The photo researcher should have excellent communication skills, great follow through, and be willing to spend each day going through image searches.

Responsibilities:

Concept, research and secure the best stock photography (from Getty, Corbis, and various photographers).

Assist creative department in tracking down the best photos for their specific spots, and search for general photos to add to image library in between spots.

Take the lead in building out and managing the agency's stock image library.

Work closely with Business Affairs to ensure images are licensed and to obtain usage rights.

Work quickly on multiple assignments under tight deadlines and roll with last-minute changes.

Be able to determine and evaluate quality and reproduction potential of images.

Generate a large and varied network of vendors and supplies, including stock, photographers, etc. and negotiate fees.

Ability to understand our aesthetic and the nuances of what we're looking for in each project.

Requirements:

o Bachelor's degree required.

o 2 -- 4 years of related work experience -- with a background in photography, fine arts, or graphic design.

o Would consider an experienced art buyer familiar with searching for and licensing stock photography.

o Strong interest in the art and photography world and culture.

o Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, efficient and focused.

o Ability to handle complex instructions with care and follow-through.

o Capable of working under pressure and thinking proactively, while consistently producing accurate results.

o Strong interpersonal and written communications skills.
