Graphic Designer Job Purpose: Prepares visual presentations by designing art and copy layouts.

Required Knowledge/Experience:

1. Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office

2. Proficient in general web and email design, including HTML and CSS coding

3. Familiar with technical requirements for making use of social media and tablets

4. Able to complete multiple marketing projects at once

5. Able to work in a team environment

6. Able to execute assignments, meeting stringent deadlines

7. Clear written, visible and verbal communication skills

8. Must live in the Chicagoland area

9. Must have a desire to work with a Christian organization that reaches more than 15, 000 urban young adults (ages 18-34) weekly.

10. MUST SUBMIT WORK SAMPLES TO BE CONSIDERED

Graphic Designer Job Duties:

1. Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials.

2. Plans concept by studying information and materials.

3. Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.

4. Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.

5. Prepares finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment; purchasing from vendors.

6. Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art.

7. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment.

8. Completes projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc.

9. Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.

10. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
