Support and execute archdiocesan efforts, and, specifically, those of the component offices within the Department of Communications, involving graphic design elements for print, video, and Web-based projects. Produce professional and branded print and digital materials for marketing, documentation, video and social media efforts, and various forms of written and electronic communication. Work with team members in the Digital Media Office to ensure that all visual elements/interfaces/layouts are compatible/consistent with new or existing programs/projects. Oversight of graphical content development, design, and updates for AODonline and its affiliated Web sites.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree or higher, preferably in graphic or Web-based design, or combination of education and/or experience required.
Minimum of three years functional experience in digital media field, with "hands-on" experience in graphic design and/or Web site development. Ability to learn/deploy new technologies as needed.
Competent in component applications within Microsoft Office Suite, especially those Web-related; CMS applications; HTML, XHTML and hybrid; Java; Flash; Adobe CS Suite, especially After Effects and Web-support applications; Cisco Unified IP Phone; facsimile transmission.
Ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities, especially on deadline.
Ability to work independently or in teams, taking initiative on select projects.
High-level verbal, visual, written and interpersonal skills necessary.
General knowledge of Church organization/structure, current events helpful.
REQUIREMENTS:
Working knowledge of and adherence to digital standards, policies, practices and operating procedures for the AOD.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time; ability to lift and carry packages/materials/equipment up to 20 pounds unassisted.
Ability to tolerate frequent use of computer keyboard and related repetitive movements.
Ability to respond to fellow employees, phone calls in normal office environment that deals with frequent interruptions and deadline projects.
Possess a valid driver's license; have a good driving record.
