Fast-paced, seasonal business looking for freelance Designers/Production Pros who can quickly and accurately layout pages for our 100-200+ page handbook/planners.
REQUIREMENTS:
Extremely proficient with InDesign and long document formatting. Experience with master pages, paragraph/character style sheets and object styles is a must.
Text formatting: There could be up to 100 pages of text to format per book.
Calendars: You will modify a calendar template or create a new one, then build an entire year.
File troubleshooting: We receive a wide variety of files that are not set up properly for printing. You will be required to adjust the size, convert colors (we do a lot of 1 and 2 color printing), and generally fix problem files so they are ready to print.
Design: This is mostly a production position (90%), but a good sense of text spacing and layout is a plus. There will be some opportunities to design covers of the books.
Work must be done at our office in Southborough, MA - working remotely is not an option. Please do not reply if you are unable to work on-site. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have a Mac laptop and Adobe CS4-5.

This is a temporary position which will last approximately from late March to mid-July.
Monday-Friday, 30-40 hours per week, plus or minus hours depending on the workload.
