Interactive Web Designer
Background:
We are looking for an in-house bilingual (English/Spanish) web / graphic designer for full time employment. We are a venture-backed ecommerce startup with offices in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Mexico City. We are the fastest growing site in our category, with more than 500,000 fans on facebook.
The right person will problem solve and be ready to contribute to and support the creation of a consistent, unique look for a new, exciting fashion brand. The designer will work closely with our creative team and brand stylists.
We are extremely fast-paced, energetic, and need a designer who can work quickly on web design across a range of Adobe products (PS, AI, ID, etc.) While our design is not edgy or over the top, we are looking for someone with a great sense of style and who hopefully is interested in fashion. This person will also manage the daily implementation of our promotional emails to our members. Our business hours are 9-6 and our creative design studio is located in Santa Monica, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Managing daily promotional email design and implementation
- Enthusiastic and energetic
- Great communication skills
- Outstanding typography skills
- Excellent understanding of web layout
- Can carefully follow creative guidelines to produce accurate design deliverables
- Collaborate with design and technology group to define & leverage functionality
- Thorough understanding of design implementation including color palettes, color depth and image formats
- Ability to combine research and technology concerns to inform design solution
- Fanatical about detail
Qualifications:
- Must be completely bi-lingual, with strong Mexican-spanish vocabulary
- 3+ years experience/exposure to e-commerce, HTML, CSS & Javascript
- Top notch CS5 skills
- Ability to move quickly without sacrificing either quality or precision
