A Graphic Designer with the ability to multi-task will be chosen as one of the first associates to work in the new stunning, ocean view offices of a $300 million major National Company located in South Beach.
The selected candidate needs to be an expert in InDesign and know your way around Photoshop and Illustrator. Additionally, you'll need to be someone who is willing to help around the office in any way possible. This person will be one of the first workers in this new location therefore you must be comfortable doing other tasks that are not in the design area. General Function:
To represent the company with high professional, both in person and on the phone. This person is responsible for working independently in the Miami Beach offices and support the Graphic functions and as the primary liaison and administrative support. Design and produce print ready computer files on Macintosh computers from original concept through corrections and final file preparation.
Specific Duties:
1. Greet visitors, screen calls and take appropriate messages and route incoming phone calls, when needed.
2. Have full understanding and working knowledge of graphics equipment including start-up and shut down procedures, operation of scanners, proofers and other related equipment.
3. Procedure print ready computer files on Macintosh computers for company promotions, space ads, intercompany forms and any other artwork as required. Perform original design when necessary as well as performing corrections to files and final file preparation.
4. Commit to project completion deadlines recognizing that work flow, project submissions and priorities change daily.
5. Interact and proactively communicate with other departments while completing assignments to ensure creative and technical goals and deadlines are meet.
6. Any special projects or requirements as determined by Graphics Manager.
7. Communicate with outside suppliers, freelance services and resources as required.
8. Maintain a professional, well organized work area keeping all material confidential.
9. Maintain files, data entry and prepare FedEx packaging when needed.
10. Pick-up and delivery of various items in a variety of locations as directed to keep all operations running smoothly.
11. Implement all maintenance and general procurement of materials and parts, schedules installations and oversees repairs in a safe and timely manner; ensures the performance of contracted services is consistent with work orders, on budget, and within quality standards.
12. Permanently available on call after normal office hours.
13. Other duties or special projects as assigned by CEO or Executive Team.
Qualifications:
Self-motivated & organized; with the ability to work with little or no supervision, a self starter with pleasant personality and good attendance.
Expert in Adobe Creative Suite
Good work ethics
Must be highly organized, be able to multi-task, follow directions, meet deadlines and be able to work alone and in a fast paced team environment.
Professional interaction with outside vendors.
Must posses a strong ability to communicate and follow directions with progressive decision making and problem solving skills.
Must have strong leadership and people skills.
Must be a team player.
Ability to be physically active from light to medium type of work.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Must posses the ability to be open-minded with a strong desire to improve performance and achieve results on a daily basis.
Confidentiality a MUST.
Experience:
Expert on Macintosh platform.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially in InDesign.
Education:
Degree in Graphic Design and/ or Studio Art (2 or 4 year), but excellent experience or ability would equal a degree.
