If you want to learn how marketing/advertising/public relations works in the real world. . .and get the opportunity to create projects you can be proud of and use in future job searches, you'll be interested in our internship.

Pay is hourly, based on minimum wage. We estimate 20 hours per week. This internship is expected to last through August 2012, but could be extended.

We are a small creative team within a highly successful insurance wholesaler (sounds boring, but it's not) located in the Scottsdale Airpark. We operate almost as a boutique ad agency, creating projects for our company and for our key reps across the country. We produce everything from logos to press kits to marketing videos, so you'll get good exposure to a range of the very latest tools and techniques.

We want someone who can write well and is familiar with AP style. We would also like you to bring your mastery of social media--we help our reps set up and manage their social sites. Our ideal candidate is outgoing, comfortable talking to new people and adapts to new situations and tasks with ease. Our goal is to help you develop your skills further, but you have to bring the desire to learn.

Here are the details:

Roles and Responsibilities

Track milestones of projects, entering information into a database.

Interact with clients to gain information necessary for advertising and marketing projects.

Set up social media properties for clients and assist them in content creation and dissemination.

Customize pre-designed marketing pieces by adding client contact information.

Write press releases, backgrounders, press kits by interviewing clients

Qualifications and Education Requirements

May be in or out of school.

If this internship qualifies, may use for school credit but school credit is not mandatory.

Prefer someone with credits in public relations, journalism, advertising, marketing, graphic design or communication.

Preferred Skills

Excellent writing skills required.

Knowledge of AP style.

Proficient in use of social media.

Interest in learning new skills.

Experience with graphic design programs, such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator a plus.

Ability to interact with clients and present a professional image.
