Part-time Graphic Artist & Typesetting Position Available
Graphic artist/typesetter needed for layout and design of full-length books [book templates and dust jackets]. Must have a minimum three years' graphic arts experience with the design and layout of books and must have a strong portfolio in this area. Must have excellent basic computer understanding and ability to troubleshoot. Must know how to prepare files for prepress and printers as well as the ability to create and thoroughly know PDFs. Must have excellent knowledge of Windows and Mac Operating Systems (Windows XP and Mac OSX) Adobe Creative Suite 2 (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) along with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Must be able to switch graphic files between platforms along with basic knowledge of file formats. Knowledge of hunting & firearms is a plus. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE IN LAYING OUT FULL-LENGTH BOOKS, DO NOT APPLY.
Must be a problem solver, a troubleshooter, and self-starter. Must have meticulous work habits and a good memory in order to produce books without flaws. Must be within reasonable driving distance of Huntington Beach, California. Person will be working with big-game hunting, wingshooting, and sporting firearms material. Compensation depends on experience and expertise.
