The Technical Consultant -3D Modeling/Gaming should have extensive knowledge of 3D cameras, Video games, 3D models, 3D software and associated gaming engines.
Location : Work Remote
Key Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate traditional cameras verses stereoscopic cameras (3D cameras), and forecast how each technology will be developed.
2. Evaluate stereoscopic video cameras verses standard HD video camera, Matrix cost verses portability verses availability.
3. Determine the best approaches to low error conversion of raster (.jpg, .tif, .png, .pdf) to vector with output of .dwg format as well as conversion of .jpg to .pdf with best resolution to file size ratio.
4. Identify currently available 3D modeling production software (for creating models for output to video games i.e. video game levels or simulation environments). Define the future road map of each alternative.
5. Identify currently available image based 3D modeling and photogrammetric software (i.e. Autodesk Image-Modeler). Identify any future software and compare all software for features, ease of use, and final out formats.
6. Identify current LIDAR simplification software. Compare all formats that can import and export. Compare price and features of each software.
7. Evaluate Portable/Wearable form factor for display of PDFs and 3D Models.
8. Determine available operating systems for 3D modeling production software and capabilities /compatibility/ advantages/ disadvantages of each.
9. Evaluate approaches for the integration of Geo-Location Tracking
10. Build a matrix evaluating current main stream gaming engines verses independently produced, unlimited distribution engines.
11. Define the future mobile gaming systems, comparing them to current high end gaming laptops.
12. Identify currently used industry standard 3D model file formats (interchange formats), identify what formats are being enhanced/updated and what formats are being phased out.
13. List the companies responsible for the maintenance and update of each format, and list the current and future 3D modeling software that supports each format.
Education and Certification:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Graphic Design or other similar program.
