Buyer (Bilingual in Mandarin)

Fast growing consumer Product Company located in the Los Angeles area is looking for an experienced buyer of consumer goods that can contribute to the bottom line. Should have buying experience and be familiar with working with overseas factories, pricing negotiations and licensing responsibilities. Prefer experience in cleaning accessories (non-chemical) if possible.

Duties to include but not limited to:

Factory sourcing

Sourcing factories for categories assigned to you

A minimum of three (3) factories per item must be constantly up-to-date

Get audit reports and set-up for factory completed before presenting to management for approval

Get necessary samples and costing information prior to presenting the factory as an option to management

Buyer will maintain a file on factories under their direction with current audits, and performance evaluations.

Buyer will perform a factory evaluation at a minimum of 2 times per year on all factories assigned to him/her. This evaluation will be presented to management for review.

Product management/development

Samples of products made need to be approved before the first order will be issued

Pricing of item(s) has been negotiated to the best of your ability

Writing of purchase orders to factories

Development of new products and ideas will be done on a continual basis

All purchase orders will include complete information on the product being ordered.

Buyer ensures that all timeframes during production are being followed

Buyer ensures that artwork sent is produced correctly before sending to VP marketing for final approval

Buyer ensures that pre-production samples are sent for approval on-time

Buyer ensures that production samples (i.e. one full case of goods on all first-time items) or a minimum of 6ea completed samples are sent prior to shipment of goods for repeat order items.

Buyer documents and communicates any delays, issues or other problems to management team on a regular basis

Re-order process

Buyer ensures that adequate inventory is available for all categories of goods assigned to him/her

When inventory appears low, buyer will make suggestions to management on a re-order. This will include all documentation of past pricing, current pricing and factory options for re-order.

China and other country employee relationship

Buyer will work with one assigned China or other country based employee for all categories and factories assigned

You will work as a team to develop and ensure that all products under your assignment are completed per the specifications needed and on-time

Buyer will present to management the employee's monthly assignment calendar per the orders pending and projects being worked on

Buyer will do initial review of the employee's expense reports each month. Management will then review and gives final approval for payment.

CNC MACHINE OPERATOR

Qualifications/Education/Skills:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain and ensure compliance with established quality standards and programs and whenever necessary works with other departments to assist quality improvement programs.

Responsibilities will include planning, directing, leading and supervising the activities of the workers involved with manufacture and assembly, so you should have extensive knowledge of the processes, production methods, and capabilities of the machines and assembly operations. Also be responsible for production schedules for work requirements for completion of job assignments, advice top management of ways to improve production, meet or exceed goals, and establish rates for labor efficiencies.

The ideal candidate will come from a CNC machine shop environment, with a strong background in Manufacturing and an understanding of programming, quick-change tooling concepts and machining processes.

Oversees plant production within designated area by training, evaluating and supervising employees who perform standardized activities and some who are required to be semi-skilled to skilled in nature to meet customer and company standards.

Oversees daily maintenance, safety and cleanliness of work areas, facility and equipment to ensure a productive manufacturing environment. Develops work schedules in accordance and compliance with ISO 9001 and customer specific requirements.

Milling and Lathe background

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have 1 year of experience in a CNC machining environment with process capability or Work related experience 1 yr

Assignments require considerable knowledge of management practice and policy interpretation or a combination of education and experience that develops technical capability to independently evaluate, select and apply techniques and standards.
